Camptown will look to end their losing start to Elite League Season VIII when they meet Anns Grove United at the National Training Centre today in the first of four matches scheduled for the weekend.

Kick-off is set for 18:30hrs, with Monedderlust and Guyana Police Force following at 21:00hrs. Sunday’s programme features Santos against Guyana Defence Force (GDF) at 18:30hrs and Western Tigers against Den Amstel at 21:00hrs, at the same venue.

The latest standings place Camptown at the bottom of the ten-team league without a point from four games. Four defeats have left them with four goals scored and 14 conceded.

Ann’s Grove also need points after recording one win and three losses in their opening four matches. They sit sixth on three points, with five goals scored and seven conceded.

Today’s later match offers Monedderlust a chance to draw level on points with Police. Monedderlust are ninth with three points from three appearances, while fifth-placed Police have six from four.

Police have split their opening matches between two victories and two defeats, scoring five goals and conceding seven. Monedderlust have one win and two losses, with three goals scored and 14 conceded.

Attention turns to the top of the table on Sunday when GDF face fourth-placed Santos. The army side have won all four of their matches and are yet to concede, scoring 15 goals along the way.

GDF’s 12 points put them level with second-placed Slingerz, whose four victories have produced 13 goals for and two against. GDF hold first place through their superior goal difference.

Santos have six points from three games following two wins and one defeat. With five goals scored and six conceded, they face a demanding assignment against the league leaders.

Western Tigers, meanwhile, can reach 12 points with victory over Den Amstel. The third-placed Tigers have nine points from four matches and lead the scoring figures with 16 goals, while conceding three.

Den Amstel are eighth on three points after one win and three defeats, with four goals scored and 13 conceded. Fruta Conquerors complete the standings in seventh place, also on three points from four matches, with five goals for and nine against.
