As part of the final round of school readiness assessments, Minister of Education Sonia Parag, chaired a review session with select Cabinet colleagues, select Members of Parliament and senior education officials to finalise preparations for the upcoming term.

A release from the ministry said that working alongside Minister Pauline Sukhai, Minister Kwame McCoy and Minister Vikash Ramkissoon, the team went through a detailed facility checklist to confirm that schools are fully prepared to welcome children back this September.

Parent–Teacher Associations (PTAs) are also being engaged for their input, ensuring parents remain a core part of the validation process.

“I have always spoken about the crucial role that parents play in our education ecosystem,” Parag said, according to the release.

The session also included Regional Executive Officers (REOs) and Regional Education Officers (REdOs), alongside the ministry’s technical team led by Permanent Secretary  Shannielle Hoosein-Outar, Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain and Chief Planning Officer  Mischka White-Griffith.
