MV MaLisha crew in two-day emergency drills

The exercise in progress

The crew of the India-built ferry, MV MaLisha participated in a two-day Emergency Drills Exercise.

A Facebook post today by the Ministry of Public Works thanked the MARAD Emergency Operation Division for conducting the critical exercise. The Ministry said that the initiative will be replicated across all of the other Transport and Harbour Department ferries with their respective crews.

The drills come in the wake of the catastrophic July 18 sinking of the MV Barima with the loss of around 100 lives.
