Anns Grove Primary will look to bounce back from a heavy opening defeat when they face Therese’s today in the Courts Optical Boys’ Under-11 Pee Wee football competition.
The match kicks off at 13:00 hrs at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, where 12 second-round games are scheduled from noon.
Anns Grove lost 9–0 to Santa Rosa Primary last Saturday, with Ethan Richards scoring four goals and Kenyano Austin adding two. Their next outing offers an early chance to put that result behind them.
Defending champions Leonora, meanwhile, will aim to build on their 3–0 win over Soesdyke when they meet Belladrum at 14:00 hrs. Jonathan Melville scored all three goals for Leonora, while Belladrum opened with a 1–0 loss to St Gabriel.
The day begins with St John against St Pius, Tucville against Potaro, and Goed Fortuin against Redeemer at noon.
St John enter the round after beating Queenstown 6–0, led by an Elliana Grant hat-trick. St Pius earned a 1–1 draw with Colaaco, while Redeemer and Agatash finished goalless. Goed Fortuin lost 3–1 to Pakuri.
Alongside Anns Grove’s match at 13:00 hrs, FE Pollard face St Aloysius and Colaaco meet Queenstown. FE Pollard and St Aloysius will both seek their first points after opening defeats.
St Gabriel’s play Soesdyke and GIA 1 face St Stephen’s at 14:00 hrs. Caleb Tan scored twice in GIA’s opening 2–1 victory over Stella Maris.
The programme closes with three matches at 15:00 hrs: Marian Academy against Stella Maris, West Primary against GIA 2, and Genesis against Plaisance Orphanage.
Marian Academy will be seeking another win after beating St Stephen’s 3–0, while Genesis aim to recover from a 2–0 loss to Waramuri.
