Brandon Henry and Malachi Murray were among the standout performers as another round of matches in the Courts Optical Pee Wee Under-11 School Championships produced several convincing victories yesterday.
Henry scored both goals for St Theresa’s Primary in a 2-0 win over Ann’s Grove Primary, finding the net in the sixth and 16th minutes.
Murray also struck twice, helping West Ruimveldt to a 3-0 victory over GIA 2. Jahmiel Favourite opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Murray added goals in the 20th and 29th minutes.
St Gabriel’s Primary recorded the biggest win of the day with a 4-0 triumph over Soesdyke Primary. Nathelion scored twice, while Simon Scott and Xavier Montage also got on the scoresheet.
St Pius Primary collected a 2-0 victory over St John the Baptist through goals from Leviticus Linch and Steve Fiedtkou, while Tucville Primary defeated Potaro Primary by the same margin after Devon Bapiste and Roger Jason found the net.
Plaisance Orphanage also secured a 2-0 win, with Keon Sthill and Antwone Scott scoring against Genesis Primary.
Elsewhere, FE Pollard edged St Aloysius Primary 1-0 after Malik Thorington scored in the 13th minute, while Redeemer Primary got past Goed Fortuin through Elijah Naughton’s 38th-minute strike.
GIA 1 also picked up a narrow win, defeating St Stephens Primary 1-0 after Yoseph Rivers scored in the 40th minute.
The action continues next Saturday at the same venue with the third round of group stage action.
