We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) Member of Parliament Dr Andrew Lewis has submitted a resignation to Parliament following allegations made against him.
Lewis, the shadow minister of natural resources wrote in part: “I have taken this decision in light of allegations that have been made against me and the ongoing investigation into those allegations. Given the seriousness of the matter and the responsibilities attached to public office, I believe that resigning from the National Assembly is the appropriate course of action while the relevant processes are ongoing.
“For clarity, my resignation should not be construed as an admission of wrongdoing or as a determination of guilt. I remain committed to due process and to allowing the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations”.
The following letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly Manzoor Nadir was released today.
