Dharamkumar Seeraj on Monday presented his Letters of Credence to Malaysia’s King, Sultan Ibrahim, formally accrediting him as Guyana’s non-resident High Commissioner to that country.
The ceremony took place at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur, according to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Seeraj reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to strengthening relations and pursuing closer cooperation with Malaysia, the ministry said.
Guyana and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on April 26, 1976, and cooperate bilaterally and through multilateral organisations.
Seeraj is based in India, where he serves as Guyana’s High Commissioner. He is also concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka.
