Zeelugt man on bail over drugs

A 22-year-old man was yesterday charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and granted $100,000 bail by Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.

According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force, Gorshome Edwards of Lot 822, Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said Edwards was arrested on June 18 in connection with a narcotics matter and was charged the following day.

He appeared before Magistrate Mohamed yesterday, where the charge was read to him. Edwards pleaded not guilty.

He will return to court on August 8^th.
