Motorsport fans will be able to enter the South Dakota Circuit free of charge on Sunday, September 6, when the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club hosts its Speedfest Superbike and Vitz Cup Track Day.
The event is expected to provide a full day of motorcycle and Vitz Cup action, with competitors testing their machines before battling in qualifying sessions and two rounds of racing.
While entry to the venue is free, spectators seeking closer access to the racing teams and machines will be required to pay $3,000 to enter the pit area.
Competitor registration and technical inspection will take place from 8:00h to 9:15h. Riders and drivers will then attend a briefing at 10:00h, followed by a transponder check at 10:25h and warm-up sessions for the motorcycles and Vitz Cup cars.
The battle for track position will begin at 11:10h with qualifying and time-attack sessions. Street Bike competitors will lead the action before the Open Class and 600cc motorcycles take their turns.
Vitz Cup Classes A and B will begin their qualifying session at 11:40h.
The first race of the day is scheduled for 12:20h, when the Street Class motorcycles take to the circuit. The Open Class and 600cc race will follow at 12:40h, while the first Vitz Cup contest will get underway at 13:00h.
Street Class riders will return for their second race at 13:25h. The second Open Class and 600cc encounter is set for 13:45h, before the Vitz Cup competitors close the racing programme with Race Two at 14:05h.
The GMR&SC will hold the presentation ceremony and official photo session at 14:30h.
Promoted under the slogan “No Speed Limits, No Excuses,” Speedfest will give competitors an opportunity to compete in an organised track-day format while providing spectators with a mix of two-wheel and four-wheel racing.
