A 28-year-old Linden contractor is in police custody after he was allegedly found with an unlicensed handgun and 19 rounds of ammunition.
Police said ranks acting on information went to Pine Street, Mackenzie, at approximately 9.21 pm on Saturday, where they observed several men drinking and playing music.
According to the police, the contractor began behaving suspiciously and attempted to leave after noticing the ranks. He was stopped and searched.
A 9mm Taurus pistol with its serial number intact, along with a magazine containing nine live rounds, was found in his possession.
