Beginning in September this year, the University of Guyana’s Bachelor of Science in Accountancy programme will be formally accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
An MoU signed today at the Education Lecture Theatre solidifies the partnership between UG and the global accounting body, according to a release from the Ministry of Labour.
Minister of Education Sonia Parag delivered the feature address at the event. She said that a country transforming as fast as Guyana needs high-quality qualifications that can keep pace.
The collaboration will also focus on developing a dual-award programme so students can graduate with both their UG degree and an ACCA Advanced Diploma, the release said.
