Imran Khan struck 20 boundaries in an 80-ball innings of 129 before taking three wickets for West Indies against Rest of the Caribbean.

Imran Khan struck 20 boundaries in an 80-ball innings of 129 before taking three wickets as West Indies defeated Rest of the Caribbean by 159 runs in an IMC Over-40s World Cup warm-up match.

The Player of the Match hit 14 fours and six sixes to power West Indies to 285, then returned three for 26 as their opponents were dismissed for 126 in 22.4 overs.

Khan’s century was comfortably the highest score of the match. Sewnarine Chattergoon was West Indies’ next leading scorer with 35 from 23 balls, followed by captain Denesh Ramdin with 32 and Nickey Lathman with 31.

Chattergoon struck seven fours, while Ramdin’s innings included three fours and a six. Lathman hit two fours and one six after West Indies chose to bat.

Mahabeer finished as Rest of the Caribbean’s most successful bowler with four for 60 from eight overs. Jieunick Mingo collected two for 42 from seven.

West Indies then combined regular wickets with a tight spell from Rakesh Maharaj to take control of the chase. Maharaj conceded only 11 runs in four overs, bowled two maidens and dismissed Andrew Lyght Jr. and Johann Branch.

Asif Chan offered the most resistance with 32 from 28 balls, while Vinai Hingoo contributed 21. Both fell as West Indies worked through the batting.

Antonnel Atwell led the wicket-taking with four for 44 from 6.4 overs. Khan’s three victims were Chan, Shazam Ramjohn and Mingo, completing a strong individual performance ahead of the World Cup’s October 17 start in Guyana.
