East Canje siblings clock 1:42:58 in HYROX mixed doubles race

East Canje siblings Keeshana Feeney and Shamar Davidson competed under Guyana’s flag in a HYROX mixed doubles fitness race, recording a time of one hour, 42 minutes and 58 seconds.

For the brother-and-sister pair, the opportunity to represent their country was a source of pride. Feeney, who shared news of their participation, highlighted their roots in East Canje and the significance of competing under the Golden Arrowhead.

“We were so proud to be able to compete under our flag,” she said.

HYROX combines running with functional fitness exercises. Its race format features eight one-kilometre runs, each followed by a workout station, testing competitors’ strength and endurance.

The siblings also added a festive touch to their appearance by dressing as aliens. Feeney explained that the costumes were worn to celebrate Halloween in the United Kingdom and were not their usual competition attire.
