Godette powers into CAREBACO Under-13 girls’ singles final

Guyana’s Anjaneysa Godette

Guyana’s Anjaneysa Godette advanced to the Under-13 girls’ singles final at the 2026 CAREBACO Junior Championships in Jamaica after producing a commanding semi-final victory yesterday.

The national Under-13 female champion defeated her Jamaican opponent 21-8, 21-10 to earn a place in today’s Caribbean final. Godette will face another Jamaican player with the gold medal at stake.

Guyana also secured two bronze medals through Joel Rambiriche.

Rambiriche fought hard against his Barbadian opponent in the Under-13 boys’ singles semi-finals but fell short, ending his campaign with bronze.

He later partnered Godette in the Under-13 mixed doubles semi-finals, where the Guyanese pair were defeated by Barbados and also collected bronze.

Rambiriche will return to action today in the Under-13 boys’ doubles round-robin competition. He will partner Trinidad and Tobago’s Neo Gajadhar as they battle for another medal.
