Chelsea Edghill will lead Guyana’s challenge at the 2026 ITTF Americas Championship in Lima, Peru, after qualifying alongside Shamar Britton and Elishaba Johnson.
The continental tournament is scheduled to run from October 18 to 25 and will feature the leading table tennis players from across the Pan American region.
Edghill secured automatic qualification through her position in the women’s regional rankings. The Guyanese Olympian is listed behind the United States’ Lily Zhang, Canada’s Mo Zhang and Argentina’s Camila Argüelles among the region’s leading women.
Under the qualification system, the top 16 ranked singles players earn direct entry into the championship.
Britton and Johnson took a different route to Lima, securing their places through their performances at the Caribbean Championship in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in April.
Both players reached the round of 16 at the Caribbean event, which was enough to confirm their qualification for the ITTF Americas Championship.
The achievement means Guyana will send a three-member playing contingent to compete against some of the best table tennis talent in the Americas.
