Guyana’s Chief Investment Officer, Peter Ramsaroop visited the Amaya Milk Company (AMC) in Region Five on Friday and was told that it was gearing up for the production of mozzarella cheese.

A release from GO-Invest said that since beginning operations, AMC has invested in modern processing facilities, food safety systems, and a refrigerated distribution network to produce fresh pasteurised milk, paneer, and other dairy products made entirely from locally sourced milk.

Today, AMC supports 30 local dairy farmers, purchasing approximately 180–200 gallons of fresh raw milk every day, providing farmers with a stable income and a guaranteed market for their produce.

The release said that AMC CEO Omkaar Sharma has announced that the company will soon launch 100% locally produced mozzarella cheese, further expanding its portfolio of value-added dairy products and reinforcing Region Five’s growing contribution to Guyana’s dairy industry.
