Atlantis Cuisine announces permanent closure

The restaurant at its opening cocktail.

Just under three years after it opened, the Atlantis Cuisine restaurant in the West Central Mall, Groenveldt, West Coast Demerara has closed.

In a notice to the public yesterday, the restaurant said “As all good things must come to an end, we do so with immense gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful customers who have supported us throughout the years”.

It said that while this chapter was closing “we are making room for new developments”.

The restaurant themed after the mythical city of Atlantis opened in a blaze of publicity on September 12, 2023.

Managing Director, Bhabita Albert had cut the ribbon to officially declare the fine dining restaurant open.

Albert had said that the family-owned business emerged from many ideas and discussions within her immediate family. Their goal was to bring their international travel experiences, to home.

It is unclear how many jobs might have been lost as a result of the closure.
