A house at Area G, Ogle, East Coast Demerara, was destroyed by fire on Sunday night, the Guyana Fire Service says.
Firefighters responding to the blaze at Lot 13 found the building engulfed in flames, with a nearby structure under threat.
The fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading farther. However, the house and its contents were completely destroyed while two neighbouring buildings sustained minor damage from heat radiation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
