GFS responds to fire at First Federation building

The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) this morning responded to a fire at the First Federation Building, between Croal and King streets, Georgetown.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke emanating from the building and immediately went into action, deploying firefighting operations to contain and extinguish the fire, a release from the GFS said.

Firefighters and emergency crews remain on the scene actively working to bring the situation under control.

Members of the public are urged to avoid the immediate area and allow emergency personnel to carry out their operations safely.
