Just two weeks after Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, visited Mackenzie High School, rehabilitation works at the institution have been completed.
A release yesterday from the Ministry of Education said that the completed works form part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to improve the physical environment in which students learn and teachers work, while ensuring that educational spaces are safe, functional and conducive to learning.
During her recent visit, Parag inspected the facilities and engaged with contractors on the needs identified at the school. She instructed that the necessary rehabilitation works be completed within a strict two-week period.
Following the visit, rehabilitation works were undertaken at the Linden Concert Hall and School (LICHAS), which accommodates approximately 300 Grade 7 and Grade 8 students.
The release said that the works included the replacement of the roof and ceiling at the Linden Concert Hall and School, electrical upgrades, and repainting of the walls. Fans were also installed in the classrooms to improve ventilation.
