The police yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for Mark Griffith, 31, known as `Skull’ in connection with the murder last week of Shawn Abrams.
Griffith’s last address was given as Canje Village, Berbice.
The police had said that Abrams, 31, of Charity, Essequibo Coast, was found dead at about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday at 14 Miles, Issano, Middle Mazaruni River.
According to investigators, Abrams, three friends and the suspect were consuming alcohol at a bar in the 14 Miles Backdam area when an altercation broke out between Abrams and the suspect.
One of the men reportedly intervened and separated the two. During the incident, he observed what appeared to be bloodstains on Abrams’ vest.
Police said the suspect then ran from the shop, while Abrams walked a short distance before collapsing.
Detectives later visited and processed the scene, where Abrams’ motionless body was found on the ground in front of the counter.
The area was canvassed for CCTV cameras and witnesses. Police said no CCTV cameras were found, but statements were taken from persons.
Checks were subsequently conducted at several camps in the 14 Miles Backdam area for the suspect, but he has not yet been located.
