Ultrasound system donated to GPHC

The donated system

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) recently received a LOGIQ e TP Ultrasound System, valued at USD $57,900, through the  donation of an overseas-based Guyanese who wishes to remain anonymous.

A release yesterday from the GPHC said that the new equipment, including accessories, has been placed in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OB/GYN) Department, where it will support ultrasound examinations and help healthcare professionals assess patients’ conditions.

As Guyana’s national referral and tertiary hospital, the release said that GPHC cares for many inpatients and outpatients, many of whom require diagnostic investigations to guide treatment. Access to reliable diagnostic equipment is vital in helping doctors make informed clinical decisions and support timely, appropriate patient care.

This addition strengthens the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and its ability to respond to the  needs of patients accessing obstetric and gynaecological services, the release added.
