The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) will restart its 2026 circuit racing calendar this weekend with the Dakota 100 endurance event at the newly revamped South Dakota Circuit.
The event is scheduled to begin at noon and will feature both motorcycle and car racing as competitors test their consistency, stamina and race craft on the newly repaved track.
General admission will be free, while spectators seeking closer access to the teams, riders and machines can purchase paddock passes for $2,000.
The Dakota 100 follows the historic GT Challenge de Las Americas, which was staged earlier this month and generated renewed interest in local motorsport. Organisers are expecting another strong turnout for this weekend’s programme.
Competitors will be required to pay a registration fee of $20,000, which includes four paddock passes for each participating team.
The event is being supported by Castrol, GUYOIL, ENet, One Guyana and KFC Guyana. The GMR&SC said sponsorship remains important to the continued development of local motorsport and helps to improve the experience for both competitors and spectators.
Race fans have been encouraged to arrive early to secure suitable viewing spots before the opening action begins at noon.
