Golden Jaguars to open Concacaf Nations League campaign against Puerto Rico

The Golden Jaguars will first meet Dominica on October 1 at 5:00pm at the Estadio Centroamericano Juan Figueroa Freyre.

The Golden Jaguars will begin their push for the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League B title against Puerto Rico on September 24 at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00pm, with the match starting a busy September-October FIFA window in which Guyana will play four times at centralised venues in Dominica and Puerto Rico.

Guyana’s second match will be against the Cayman Islands on September 27 at 3:00pm, also at Windsor Park. The national team will then travel to Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, for back-to-back encounters with Dominica.

The Golden Jaguars will first meet Dominica on October 1 at 5:00pm at the Estadio Centroamericano Juan Figueroa Freyre. The two teams will clash again at the same venue on October 4, beginning at 3:00pm.

Guyana will compete in a 16-team League B, which is divided into four groups of four. Each team will play its three opponents twice, completing six group matches during the September-October and November FIFA Match Windows.

Only the four group winners will progress to the League B Championship, where they will battle for the divisional title.

The centralised hosting system was introduced in the previous Nations League campaign. It is intended to limit travel demands and help participating associations maintain strong competition-delivery standards.

A total of 41 Concacaf member associations will participate in the fifth staging of the regional tournament. Along with providing countries with matches against teams of similar competitive strength, the Nations League remains a key pathway to the Concacaf Gold Cup.

The campaign will resume in November 2026 before concluding in March 2027. League A will stage its Nations League Finals during the final window, while Leagues B and C will have centralised championship competitions for the first time.

The remaining schedules for November and March will be released later.

With the opening window confirmed, Guyana will turn its attention to preparations as the Golden Jaguars aim to collect early points and remain in contention for advancement from League B.
