Yusifu Kargbo came off the bench to score twice as Slingerz beat Fruta Conquerors 5–2 in Sunday night’s Elite League action at the National Training Centre, Providence.
The halftime substitute scored in the 54th and 63rd minutes, helping Slingerz establish a four-goal lead before Fruta threatened a late recovery. Western Tigers also enjoyed a prolific night, beating Monedderlust FC 8–1 behind a Kevon Woodley hat-trick.
Slingerz’s victory was briefly made less comfortable when Jamal Codrington converted a 77th-minute penalty and fellow Fruta scorer Antwone Denny struck three minutes later. Those goals cut the lead to 4–2, but Yuri Vinicius Silva de Melo answered in the 81st minute to settle the contest.
Earlier, Kemar Beckford had broken the deadlock in the 36th minute, sending Slingerz into the interval 1–0 ahead.
Kargbo’s introduction at the restart brought two more goals within the opening 18 minutes of the second half. Darron Niles then scored in the 70th minute to put Slingerz 4–0 up before the late exchange of goals.
Western Tigers’ victory was built on a five-goal first half, with Woodley scoring twice before completing his treble after the break.
Hakeem Legall opened their account in the 12th minute, and a Dane Johnson own goal in the 16th increased Monedderlust’s problems. Woodley added the third in the 22nd minute, Michael Junior Oie scored in the 38th, and Woodley struck again in the 40th.
Even Cecil Jackman’s dismissal in the 66th minute failed to halt the Tigers’ scoring. Woodley completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute, followed by Shem Julius James in the 83rd.

Darius Chester also made an impact from the bench, scoring in the 85th minute after entering in the 78th. Rayon Rose’s 90th-minute goal gave Monedderlust a consolation as Western Tigers finished with an emphatic 8–1 win.
