Ninety-three  ranks of Police Regional Division #3 on Friday completed two weeks of Stun Gun Training.

This training began  on Tuesday, September 8, and concluded on Friday,  September 18, 2026 at the Den Amstel Police Station, Conference Room, West Coast Demerara, a release from the police said.

The training was facilitated by ranks of the Tactical Services Unit (TSU). Ranks were exposed to  practical demonstrations on the proper handling and application of the Stun Gun, along with instructions on its operation and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) around its use.

“This training forms part of the Division’s ongoing efforts to enhance the preparedness and operational capabilities of its ranks, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to safely manage situations requiring non-lethal force”, the release said.

It added: “The initiative further demonstrates the Guyana Police Force’s commitment to professional development, modern policing techniques, and ensuring ranks are adequately trained in the use of non-lethal tools during the execution of their duties”.
